Ian & Lea's Wedding

I'm finally posting some pictures from my
son's wedding that took place in Vancouver on the
Canadian Thanksgiving week-end (October 2015)

I made a variety of projects -
both paper crafts and fabric crafts that
I'll be sharing over the next few posts.

 Lea and Ian

The colour scheme was royal blue, with touches of fall colours.

Floral Arrangements
I made a banner with white and blue card stock,
cutting letters and a heart using my Cricut machine.

The banner was positioned across the head table.

I made a wedding card that my other son and his girlfriend
gave to the bride and groom.

 I used Papertrey Ink's Heart-2-Heart #9
stamps and dies to make a clean and simple design.
I used Enchanted Evening ink and card stock
along with Smokey Shadow ink for the sentiments.

It's hard to believe that they will be celebrating their
first anniversary in just 6 weeks!!

Butterfly Wishes

Today I have a card and sewing project
I made for my sister-in-law's birthday.

Bowl Cozy and Mini Placemat
I used printed fabrics to make a 2 sets of bowl cozies
and mini place mats. I found a this tutorial for these on
Pinterest and have made several sets for family members.
They are a great solution for cooking your morning
oatmeal in the microwave. No more problems when
removing a hot steaming bowl from the microwave!!
I had extra material, so I used it to make
two small place mats,
just the right size for the bowl cozy.

I used the colour scheme from the bowl
cozy fabric to create a birthday card.
The front panel was stamped with a
variety of blue and green inks
(Limeade Ice; Stampin' Up:Tempting Turquoise;
Close To My Heart: Crystal Blue, Moonstruck Blue)
using Irresistibly Ikat.

Circle Scribbles die was cut from Limeade Ice,
then a butterfly (Butterfly Wishes) was die cut, stamped,
coloured  and layered over the circle.
The sentiment (Wonderful Words: Birthday)
was stamped onto a Double-ended Banner die
and adhered to the card front.

Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps -Irresistibly Ikat, Butterfly Dreams; Wonderful Words:Birthday,
Stylish Sentiments: Birthday

Doodlie Do Birthday

My son asked me to make a card for his girlfriend's mother.
Doodlie-Do and Polka Dot Basics made this
a fast and simple card to create.

Fine Linen ink was used to stamp the polka dots
onto a white card front and then attached to a
Fine Linen card base.
Various flowers and leaves were die cut and stamped,
coloured with copics (reds, burgundy, yellow and greens)
and then arranged onto the card front.
Red Adhesive pearls (in a variety of sizes) were added.
The sentiment (Happy Hexagons) was stamped
with Vineyard (Close To My Heart).

Inside
A white panel insert was stamped with polka dots
sentiment (Flower Fusion #1) and
a Doodlie-Do flower.
The edge was sponged with Fine Linen ink.

Stinkin' Cute Birthday for Emily

I used this Lawn Fawn Stinkin' Cute stamp and die
for this birthday card earlier this year. Its such a
cute image when paired with flowers.
I decided to try a rainbow effect for the background
on this card for my grand niece who turns 4 this month.
I used the Hexagon Cover Plate to impress the
outline design onto the front of a Soft Stone card base.
After cutting and stamping various hexagons from
white card stock I was able to position them onto the
front of the card base using the raised areas as a guide.

Rainbow Colours from bottom to top:
New Leaf, Limeade Ice,
Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise,
Lovely Lady, Sweet Blush,
Aqua Mist.
Hibiscus Burst was used for happy and number 4.

A strip of vellum with a notched bottom was stamped
with BIRTHDAY (Happy Hexagons), then heat embossed
with Stampin' Up Melon Mumbo Embossing Powder.
The top of the vellum tag was die cut with
Stitching Lines dies, then aqua embroidery floss
was threaded through the holes and finished with a bow.
This allowed me to place a strip of Scor-Tape below
the threaded area and attach it to the card front.

Polka Dot Alphabet stamps and dies were used to
make the word happy. Several layers were
die cut a stacked to create added dimension.

The main circular panel was created by
stamping flowers and grass (Garden Variety)
onto a circle of white card stock, then added to a
Bright Buttercup circle cut with Inverted Scallops die.
The skunk was die cut, stamped and coloured with
copic markers before adding it to the front circle.
The number 4 was die cut and stamped with
Polka Dot Numbers using Hibiscus Burst ink.

The inside was finished with a flowers, grass

Happy Camper Anniversary

My niece and her family love to camp.
They spend several weeks each summer in their trailer
at provincial parks - swimming, campfires and s'mores are
their favourites. I used Petite Places: Happy Camper
to make an anniversary card for them,
knowing that it is very close to their hearts!!
I love using a variety of stamps and dies to embellish
each of the little boxes from the Comic Strip Cover Plate.
This time, I cut one piece of card stock from Kraft
to make the outline frame and a second piece
in order to get the variety of panels.

On the top box, I cut away one of the
vertical frame lines so that I could have a full width
for the sentiment (Close To My Heart: Good Times).
This was stamped with Dark Chocolate ink
directly onto the Aqua Mist panel.
I stamped it a second time onto white card stock with
Pure Poppy ink, and trimmed the small Good Times panel.
I then glued that onto top of the original stamped line.
A yellow copic marker was used to fill in the stars.
The central panel was created using:
* a roadway - narrow grey cardstock with white dash lines;
* two die cut trees from Scene It: Mountain View;
* stamped birds from Ahoy!
* Fresh Snow ink sponged along the top to make clouds
* Sun - die cut from Harvest Gold card stock with a
medallion die (Ad Sense) and stamped with a small sunburst
from Monthly Moments: June.  A yellow adhesive dot was
added to the center before popping it up with foam dots.
* Trailer, banner and car - Happy Camper stamps and dies.

The bottom right panel uses stamps and dies from
Petitie Places: Happy Camper and Scene It: Mountain  View.

The bottom left panel uses a Heart-2-Heart #3 die cut,
sponged with Pure Poppy ink and stamped with a
sentiment from Clip Tips using Versamark and
white detail embossing powder.

Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps - Petite Places: Happy Camper, Clip Tips, Monthly Moments: June,
Ahoy; Close To My Heart: Good Times
Inks - Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold,
Fresh Snow, CTMH: Grey Wool; Versamark

SuperGirl Birthday

Comic Strip Cover Plate is one of my favourite Papertrey Ink dies.
I've used it for baby cards, and birthday cards for all ages.
This Supergirl birthday card (for my grandniece who turned 7)
uses stamps and dies from Superhero and Zappy Birthday.

I started by cutting the cover plate from
Stamper's Select White card stock and
then took the rectangular and square boxes
and tried another water colour technique with
Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain re-inkers.
I was attempting to get a splattered look!!
I used all of the panels for the card, except the top left side.
The picture does not clearly show the outline of the card -
next time I need to make sure to use a contrasting background
when photographing a white card!! Hope you can visualize
that the white frame of the cover plate forms the card front!!
Details
The top left box was stamped with the dotted image
from Superhero, before adding the stamped die cut
and sentiment. (Close To My Heart: Outdoor Denim, Orange inks)
The right box was created by layering several stamped and
punched circles and then adding a green die cut star.
I think the favourite part of this card is the mask ...
I used several layers of card stock to make the mask
very thick and then added a bright green layer
to give the illusion of cat eyes!
The mask and Supergirl image were stamped with
Outdoor Denim Ink;
the Supergirl sentiment was stamped with Orange ink.

The bottom left box uses only die cuts -
orange stars from Square Shaker Confetti die
and Boy Basics: Out of this World.
The building silhouette was die cut from
Zappy Birthday Die Collection.
The final box uses the stamps and dies
(Zappy Birthday) create the raised sentiment panel.
The edges of each box were sponged with Spring Rain ink.

Inside
To finish the inside of the card I die cut
Monthly Moments: Slide Frame and then
stamped it with polka dots (Building Blocks)
using New Leaf ink.
The sentiments (Zappy Birthday) and two scrolled
lines (To You From Me) complete this panel.
Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps -Zappy Birthday, Superhero, To You From Me, Building Blocks
Inks - New Leaf, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain; Stampin' Up:Bashful Blue;
Close To My Heart:Orange, Outdoor Denim
Paper - Stamper's Select White; CTMH:Outdoor Denim
Dies - Comic Strip Cover Plate, Zappy Birthday, Superhero; Monthly Moments: Slide Frame
Star Dies from: Square Shaker Confetti Die, Boy Basics: Out of this World

Sarai: Huggabugg Birthday

Here's a sweet yellow and pink card I made for
my grand niece who recently turned 1. I used
Stamping Bella's "cuppycake with a Huggabugg on top!"

I've been experimenting with various water colour techniques.
(with limited success, LOL!!) I started with water coloured paper
and used Hibiscus Burst and Harvest Gold inks to create a 'smooshed' background panel
I cut an oval from the center of the card front to use
for the main focal panel. The remainder of the front was
stamped with Birthday Style confetti using Hibiscus Burst
and Harvest Gold over the smooshed background.

The oval piece was mounted onto a double mat of
Harvest Gold and Hibicus Burst.
Huggabug and cupcake images were stamped,
coloured with copics and fussy cut so it could be
attached to the main focal panel.
The base of the cupcake was paper pierced using
a striped paper from my scrap bin.
The sentiment (Stylish Sentiments: Birthday)
was stamped with black ink.
