Thank-you Bitty Bouquets

Bitty Bouquets is such a sweet set.
I used the stamps to create a simple
(almost one layer) card. I stamped one of the
bouquets onto Confetti White card stock (SU),
using Berry Sorbet, Lemon Tart and Spring Moss inks.
In order to highlight the floral image, I stamped
a frame (Label Basics) with Kraft ink.
The sentiment (Swoosh) was stamped with
Dark Chocolate and Kraft inks.
In order to create the swoosh across the card,
I masked the frame, stamped the sentiment,
then added the swoosh on the left side.

Before attaching the card front to the Kraft card base,
texture was added with the Canvas Impression Plate.

Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps - Bitty Bouquets, Label Basics, Swoosh
Inks - Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Berry Sorbet, Lemon Tart, Spring Moss
Paper - Kraft; SU: Confetti White
Dies - Quilted: Spring, Canvas Impression Plate
Other - Canvas Impression Plate

Papertrey Ink May 2015 Blog Hop

It's time again for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.
When I first saw this inspiration photo I kept wondering
how to translate square coloured blocks into a card.

I kept coming back to the idea of a rainbow quilt -
blocks of colourful squares assembled into a "paper quilt"!
I stamped one of the quilt blocks from Quilter's Sampler
onto Stamper's Select White card stock with
Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I hand cut each one
so that I could remove some of the stitching lines
and then glued them onto graph paper.
This allowed me to keep everything aligned.

Using a variety of copic markers, I coloured
30 squares in a rainbow colour scheme.
The finished quilt was mounted onto another piece
of white card stock to create a border.
This was mounted onto a 4" x 4 3/4" Soft Stone card base.

After all of the work involved in making the quilt,
I didn't want to cover it up, so I stamped the main
sentiment (Purls of Wisdom) onto a vellum banner
using Versamark, then embossing with black EP.
A yellow star button from my stash was accented
with black embroidery floss and then added
to the banner over one of the yellow quilt blocks.

Supplies (PTI, unless noted)
Stamps - Quilter's Sampler, Purls of Wisdom
Inks - Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Papers - Stamper's Select White, Soft Stone, Vellum, graph paper
Dies - Double-ended Banner die
Other - Yellow Star button; Black embroidery floss; Canvas Impression Plate;
copic markers; Stampendous Detail Black Embossing Powder

Blue & Pink Quilted: Spring Anniversary

Quilted:Spring dies and stamps have been on my on my desk since they have arrived. I've made birthday cards and a sympathy card and today I'm sharing an anniversary card. I used the similar design as this previously posted birthday card to create a blue and pink version with a few yellow flowers!!

The quilt block details were stamped directly onto a white card base.
A few of the details were coloured with a blue copic marker.
The floral designs were added to the top and bottom corners and
the sentiment (Think Big #24) was stamped with Blueberry Sky ink.
The Canvas Impression Plate gives some texture to the card front.

I had previously cut a full quilt block from Blueberry Sky card stock and used the circle portion for a note card and the shaped inserts for a birthday card.
Those cards can be found HERE.

I like to make use of all of my scraps, so I took the leftover frame
and usedit to create a border around the quilt block.

I die cut the flower and floral spray from white card stock and then stamped it with the coordinating stamps using Blueberry Sky, Hibiscus Burst, Harvest Gold, and Simply Chartreuse inks. Foam adhesive was used to pop this up onto the center of the quilt block. A small pink rhinestone was added to the flower.

The inside was stamped with a sentiment from Pretty Peonies
flowers, leaves and dots from Quilted: Spring.

Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps - Quilted: Spring, Think Big #24, Pretty Peonies
Inks -  Blueberry Sky, Hibiscus Burst, Harvest Gold, Simply Chartreuse;
Paper - Stamper's Select White,Blueberry Sky
Dies - Quilted: Spring, Canvas Impression Plate
Other - pink adhesive rhinestone, foam adhesive tape; copic markers

Birthday Wishes Around the World

May is a busy month for birthdays in my family.
I've made lots of cards for nieces -
pinks and yellow; flowers and hearts!!
But my brother's birthday is this month too,
so I had to change gears and plan a masculine card.
This is the result - a birthday card for my brother!!

The Comic Strip Cover Plate was cut from Rustic White card stock. Before adhering this to a Kraft card base, I cut apart the the die cut so it could be rearranged. (The original center panel is now at the top)
To create a weathered look, I stamped Weathered Background (Stampin'Up) with Kraft ink. The top and bottom segments of the cover plate were stamped with black ink (Background Basics: Newsprint ) and more of the weathered background in Kraft ink before inserting them into the spaces.

Sentiment Panel
A sentiment (Stylish Sentiments: Birthday) was stamped
with Tropical Teal, Limeade Ice and Hawaiian Shores.
This was an easy technique using MISTI
(Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented)!!
Vintage Tea Dye: Chamomile was sponged around the edges.
The globe image (Destination) was stamped with
Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with copic markers.
I die cut the circle, sponged the edges with Tea Dye ink
and then attached it to the sentiment panel.
The card was wrapped, along the fold,
with Linen Thread (SU) and tied with a small bow.

Card Interior
A Rustic White panel was stamped with a sentiment
from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday;
(Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice Simply Chartreuse inks)
and then attached to the inside of the card base.

Supplies (PTI, unless noted)
Stamps - Background Basics: Newsprint, Destination, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
Stampin`Up: Weathered Background Stamp
Inks - Kraft, Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse; Tea Dye : Chamomile;
Memento Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa
Papers - Rustic White, Kraft
Dies - Comic Strip Cover Plate
Other - copic markers; SU: Linen Thread

Quilted: Spring Birthday

I love Papertrey Ink's Quilted: Spring set designed by the
talented Betsy Veldman.  I've used different colour
combinations and techniques for several occasions.
Blue/yellow versions can be seen here.
This soft pastel card is a perfect card for a birthday.

The quilt block (Quilted: Spring) was diet cut from
white card stock; the various pieces were stamped
with coordinating stamps (Sweet Blush and Lemon Tart).
The card front was also stamped with small floral images
from the set and a sentiment (Quilter`s Sampler)
with CTMH: Grey Wool ink.
The card front  and the quilt block were impressed
with the Canvas Impression Plate
The quilt block was matted onto Lemon Tart;
then attached to the card front.
The floral spray was die cut and stamped and
then popped onto the front with foam adhesives.

 Card Interior
I finished the inside with a sentiment
(Keep It Simple: Birthdays) and flowers (Quilted: Spring).

Eliza's First Birthday

I've had a number of family birthdays over the
last few months. Here's one for my grand niece
who turned one in April. Lots of colourful flowers
and a little kitty makes a perfect spring birthday card!!

Mavis Has A Daisy (Stamping Bella) was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with copic markers.

Mavis was masked and the remaining details were stamped and coloured:
* Picket Fence (Clear Dollar Stamps) with Memento Rich Cocoa and copic markers;
* Grass (Lovely Layers) with Spring Moss and Simply Chartruese inks;
* Flowers (Garden Variety) with Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Berry Sorb et inks (PTI) and Orange, Hollyhock and Crystal Blue inks (Close To My Heart). An enamel dot (My Mind;s Eye) accents the center of the flower.

* Sentiment (Framed Out #1) with Canyon Clay ink

Blue card stock (Recollection) was used for the card base, a mat for the focal panel and the flower accent (Bloom Builders #3)
Papers from Echo Park's  "hello Summer" 6" x 6" pack were used for the card front and the paper pieced dress; Canyon Clay Bitty Dot Patterned Paper (PTI) was used as a mat for the front panel and the number "1" (Number Time Trio) on Mavis's dress.
Card Interior
A strip of patterned paper was attached to the bottom
of a white card stock panel.
Sentiment - Stylish Sentiments: Birthday.

Heart Shaker Birthday

One of my grand nieces turned four in April and I knew
she would love a shaker card!!
Parker's favourite colours are pink and purple,
so I chose some colourful dots and sparkle stamps
along with Hibiscus Burst card base and
heart frame: (Shakers and Sprinkles kit)

A multitude of dots  (Polka Dot Basics, Beautiful Blooms, Dot Spot) were stamped onto Stamper's Select White with Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Lavender Moon, Winter Wisteria, Spring Moss, Limeade Ice and Lemon Tart inks. I also added some of the star images from the Sparkle and Shine stamp sets.

Winter Wisteria ink was used to stamp.. Happy Birthday..
(Clear Dollar Stamps: Tag It!) and
Shakers and Sprinkles sentiments.
The card front was impressed with Canvas Impression Plate
before applying to the carde base. A variety of confetti from the
Shakers and Sprinkles kit were  added to the heart shaped frame.
Word die Sprinkles was cut twice from Lemon Tart card stock;
copic markers were used to create a ombre look on the word
before attaching it to the window.

Card Interior
The inside of the card was finished with a white panel,
stamped with the same dots used on the front.
Stylish Sentiments: Birthday sentiment was
stamped with  Hibiscus Burst ink.

I always like adding the birthday age to a child's card.
This time I used the circle stamp (Postmarks) and
number '4' (Mini Scrap Series: Tabs).
