Hallowe'en Witch, Pumpkin & Spider!

Greeting Card Kids from Stampin'Up has several images of little children that are appropriate for various occasions throughout the year. Pumpkins, witches, brooms and spiders mean Hallowe'en to me!!

I started by stamping the main image onto Bella card stock so that I could colour it with copic markers. I didn't want a black outfit for the little witch, so I chose a variety of blue-violet and green copic markers for her outfit. The image was cut with a circle die, edges were sponged with Lovely Lilac ink and adhered to Tag Sale #4 cut from Royal Velvet card stock.

The spider and dotted line were stamped onto the main focal panel with Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. The spider web was stamped onto a separate piece of card stock and also embossed, before cutting it out and adding a foam dimensional.  A green bow helps to add a bit more colour to the overall tag design.  The light lavender card base was repeatedly stamped with two stamps from the Tag-Its #7 set to create a background for the tag and image panel.
The inside of the card uses the same spider and the full size spider web, stamped in black ink and outlined with a Sakura glitter pen.
The sentiment was made by selectively inking two different stamps from
Mega Mixed Messages (ENJOY from "ENJOY the moment" and TODAY from "celebrate TODAY")

Ad Sense Birthday

I finally got a chance to use Papertrey Ink's Ad Sense stamp set and die for this birthday card. I made it for my son to give to my husband on his birthday. A really classic colour scheme of red, white and blue was used.

The main card base is a dark blue, layered with a white panel that has been embossed with a Sizzix folder. The main focal panel was made by cutting the large Ad Sense die and then stamping the frame in red ink and the sentiments in blue. This was mounted onto another piece of blue card stock and then hand cut in the same shape as the die cut. The smaller circular die was also cut and stamped from this same set. Ribbon and a small button finishes the card front.

The inside of the card uses the cute Polka Dot Alphabet from Close to My Heart to create "DAD" and then a sentiment from Big Birthday Wishes and two accent images from Ad Sense

Stamps:   PTI Ad Sense;  Close to My Heart: Polka Dot Alphabet
Inks:   Close to My Heart: Moonstruck, Holiday Red

Papertrey Ink October 2011 Blog Hop

For this month's blog hop inspiration we've selected something with a bit of an autumn flair.
The fabric selections and pattern combinations used on these petite pumpkins are a prime
way to jump-start a fabulous fall paper project.  Use the colors as your inspiration, or
focus on the patterns  You can also use pumpkins or maybe some felt die-cut leaves.

I made a very simple card using pumpkin images,
some polka dots and orange from the inspiration photo.
PTI's  Vintage Picnic stamp was a perfect choice for the Blog Hop today.
A Nestabilities die was used to cut the main image panel and a co-ordinating Kraft card stock mat. The pumpkins were stamped onto the main panel and then coloured with copic markers. The picnic basket was die cut from white card stock and then stamped and coloured and attached below the pumpkins. The main focal panel was sponged with Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo.

A plaid paper was added to the card base and carries through with the picnic and pumpkin theme of the card. I stamped Polka Dot Basics with SU Creamy Caramel ink on top of the patterned paper to add a more colour and dimension.
The sentiments, from Tea for Two and Tea for Two Additions, were stamped with more of the Creamy Caramel ink. Two rusty coloured buttons were tied with Rustic Jute and added to each side of the Birthday sentiment.

The inside of the card uses another pumpkin image from Vintage Picnic, coloured in copic markers. The birthday sentiment is from one of my most used sets - Big Birthday Wishes.
